Check out this other Wired article about automatic https redirect in the DuckDuckGo extension: https://www.wired.com/story/duckduckgo-smarter-encryption/. The only problem I see is that the browser extension doesn’t exist for Safari. Otherwise, it gives me even more reasons to switch my default browser to DuckDuckGo. A good reason to dump Google, at least on some of my computers.
CapitalOne provides misleading information on their website
Well, this time, I have new info about dishonest corporations. I went on the CapitalOne website to make a payment on my credit card. As you can see, the date of the transaction is 11/8 and the webpage clearly states my payment is not due until tomorrow, 11/9 at 8 pm ET. Look further down the page and see that they’ve charged me a late fee. And in a really small typeface, they give the due date as 11/7. I called CapitalOne and they insisted that the due date was 11/7. They finally relented and credited me back the $27 late fee after a 17 minute phone call. And they refused to take responsibility for the bogus information on their website, that’s what got me pissed off. CapitalOne is like most large corporations, unethical.
