Here Come the Nazis

Well, Fascism is on the rise. According to the New York Times Wednesday Evening Briefing: 3. President Trump has declared meatpacking plants  “critical infrastructure” but how that might keep them running   remains unclear. Above, a Detroit butcher. The emergency declaration, signed by the president late Tuesday, could allow the Department of Agriculture to potentially  force meat companies to fulfill orders from retailers . The order fails to address whether the plants, where outbreaks of the virus have sickened thousands of workers, would be required to test all of their workers for the virus before reopening. Separately,  conservative groups planning lawsuits against state and local lockdown orders have seen signs of support from a powerful ally:  the Justice Department . The Trump Administration is rapidly tilting the Federal Government to fascism. The Constitution limits Federal power, But the Orange Nazi is grabbing more and mo...

More On Inadequate Response

This time it’s a bombshell report that’s from the Wall Street Journal that I read in Apple News about the total incompetence of the Federal government. The name of the article is: Miscalculation at Every Level Left U.S. Unequipped to Fight Coronavirus  I expect the Trump administration will blame everyone else and the Fascist media will echo the lies. The truth is the Trump Administration released their budget in February cutting the FEMA budget by 70%. And appointed an apparently incompetent military officer to oversee the emergency needs of America, who dismantled the already inadequate infrastructure of emergency management services. Of course, according to the Trumpskyite’s logic, you can blame three years of inactivity on the previous administration, because they’re anti-American shitbags who should be informing the American public, and instead, are mouthing the Trump Propaganda. When are the class action lawsuits going to start to take Fox, Breitbart and the rest of th...

Inadequate Response

So according to A WebMD article: Vice President Mike Pence said that 2 months ago, fewer than 10,000 coronavirus tests had been administered. Today, Pence said,  5.4 million tests have been given, with up to 200,000 being given in a day, he said But, some leaders say testing is far behind A group of health experts recently said the United States needs 5 million tests a day by early June. On Monday, San Francisco Public Health Officer Grant Colfax, MD, said the city needs to increase testing by 2 to 3 times the current rate before the city can relax the current health orders, according to CNN The Wall Street Journal, CNN and other news organizations cited a Trump administration official as saying all the states will be provided enough tests to screen at least 2% of its residents, with a particular focus on vulnerable populations and emergency workers. Two percent of the population will be tested and the Orange Nazi thinks that’s adequate? I don’t know about you, but ...

Low Information Voters

Also from the New York Times: A  University of New Hampshire poll  released this week had encouraging news for Mr. Trump. While his overall virus approval rating in that state remained underwater, independents’ approval jumped in the past month by 21 percentage points, showing that his message — inconsistent though it may be — is still persuasive for some key voters. Some people are just really stupid. Believing someone that practically never tells the truth is the sign of a really gullible loser. The Orange Nazi says the first thing on his mind, which he undoubtedly got from some right-wing propaganda site or TV station. I learned to discount everything The Nazi says and the daily White House Propaganda Show is never on my radar. And anyone who watches it is the subject of a Disinformation Campaign.

Charlatan in Chief

Well, according to the New York Times: As his administration responds to the crisis, the president has been worried about his re-election and how the news media is portraying him I don’t know, the Orange Nazi comes across to me as a grifter, charlatan, and fraud that, like his right-wing compatriots, that are practicing medicine without a license. Isn’t that a felony? When is he going to be arrested? Or do Barr and MoscowMitch allow the Orange Nazi to do as he pleases? Hang ‘em all for treason. In fact hang, draw and quarter them. Maybe that would cause the Nazis to reform their ways.

Sorry, conspiracy spouters aren’t reasonable

Again the New York Times is promoting a bogus theory: We’re fallible. Sometimes we worry about the wrong things. Reasonable people can disagree, particularly when knowledge about this virus keeps shifting. Reasonable people don’t spout conspiracy theories, crazies do. And there are more nutcases spouting their “opinions” on the Internet. People that have no expertise in anything approaching intelligent discourse are screaming about subjects no sane person would believe. But there are people too stupid to form a coherent opinion that buy the bullshit hook, line and sinker. Then they repeat it to other gullible people. I don’t know how many people I’ve stopped talking to because they’re too stupid to live. Let them believe the talking heads. I believe that medical personnel ought to decline to treat people whose behaviors cause them to be infected. Call me callous, but the Darwin Awards come to mind when I hear these nutcases. The terminally stupid ought to be wiped out.

COVID Symptom Tracker

COVID Symptom Tracker Look it up, I found it in the Apple App Store, but it’s probably in the Play Store too, it’s a research app that needs as many participants as possible.

Perverse Priorities

Also from the New York Times Coronavirus Newsletter, it’s nice to know that normal people can’t get tested, but somebody got their pets tested: Bad news for felines:  Two domestic cats in New York State have tested positive for the coronavirus,  the first pets found to be infected  in the U.S.

Amazon Fiasco

There’s a statement on Wednesday’s New York Times On Tech newsletter that I totally agree with: I totally forgive Amazon for being slower, but Amazon, please remember we paid for a very specific delivery time-frame and however reasonably, you cannot deliver on that anymore. When anybody else accepts money for a service they can’t deliver, they have to give the money back.  —  Sean Deitrick, Knoxville, Tenn. But I doubt that we’ll be seeing any refund from Amazon. Probably in their terms and conditions are a total abdication of responsibility, you know, like Donnie Trump’s total abdication of responsibility for anything related to coronavirus.

Trumpty Dumpty’s Latest Fiasco

So, based on an article from the New York Times, the reason Trump is illegally withholding the WHOs funding is that But U.S. officials said  there was near-unanimous agreement among the president’s advisers  that the W.H.O., the U.N.’s public health arm, was too heavily influenced by the Chinese government and was too slow to sound the alarm about the coronavirus. There’s only one problem, Trumpty Dumpty’s advisors are all unqualified rubes whose only qualifications are they’re all evil 👿  far right conspiracy theorists. I mean, one is a PhD in (I think) economics who read a few studies and is now a epidemiologist. Probably got his “degree” from a diploma mill. And that agreement is based on the fact that the Trumpty Dumpty administration spent 6 weeks ignoring the WHO pronouncements. And actively downplaying any reasonable actions taken by people with a brain, like government officials in Washington and California. Trump should stand trial for first degree mur...

Covid-19 stats

Well the Covid Tracking Project hasn’t been keeping up it’s statistics gathering, at least for the State of Nevada. According to the website, the last stat update was Sunday, but the Nevada website where they derive the data from has had at a few updates. Update: Well, I did some further research and found that the datasets of state data, (the json and CSV files) are updated. I guess that I’ll have to rely on them for updated information. The problem I see is with the Nevada state page , it is out of date.

Duolingo still sucks

Now Duolingo has started to not count my lessons. I take a lesson, say i get 14 points for the overly long lesson, which is ridiculous in itself. But Duolingo fails to give me credit for the lesson. Or say i take a lesson shortly after 12 midnight. I don’t get credit for doing a lesson on that day, so i have to waste my time and effort doung what could be yet another uncredited lesson. Definitely not going to re-up after my subscription is dur for renewal. That’s besides the fact that they don’t have any rhythm or reason to the way they teach. No grammar lesson and the voice questions are mostly unintelligible. The female voice is mostly mumbled and slurred. You’re supposed to write down what is said, but unless you have complete silence, you can’t understand anything the voice says, especially the woman. She NEVER enunciates clearly. Never have a clue as to what she’s sayiing, it’s always a guess.

More COVID-19 ‘news’

From Wired: New research estimates  underreporting in current statistics With many still unable to get tested and growing numbers of people dying at home, it seems likely that the coronavirus fatality counts are underreported. A new study attempts to take that into account when calculating the virus’s case fatality ratio in different countries. Not surprising, at least to me.

COVID UPDATE

There’s an opinion article in the New York Times called “ Please, Don’t Intentionally Infect Yourself. Signed, an Epidemiologist. ” Believe it. At least in Nevada, things aren’t looking good. Deaths have gone from 46 on April 6th to 80 deaths On April 9th. Almost double in 3 days. And they’re only testing 1000-1200 people a day. So far they’ve only tested 6 tenths of one percent of the population. And given that some people in Nevada still think the whole thing is a hoax, we’re in BIG trouble. Though, I went to Smith’s to do some grocery shopping and they are really taking things seriously. Most people seemed to be taking the precautions seriously, though some people seemed to be oblivious to the message, and that’s all it takes to increase the infection rate.

Glimmer of Hope

Well, according to the New York Times: Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said on Wednesday that he was starting to see “some glimmers of hope,” but epidemiologists warned that a return to pre-pandemic life won’t happen safely anytime soon. i don’t know what data he sees, but I don’t see the same glimmer of hope that he sees. At least given the data available on https://covidtracking.com , the rate of increase in cases and deaths is still increasing in most states. It’s not exponential, like x squared, but like I saw in another article, a Seattle epidemiologist said that the rate at which those who have the coronavirus are passing it onto more than one person, the infection rate is is going to increase. The plateau is only going to come when that rate drops below one. And since certain locales still haven’t enacted social distancing edicts, stupid people are going to enable the virus to spread. I mean, I’m more libert...

COVID-19 testing disaster

So, according to the  https://www.apple.com/covid19  website: Testing is limited-availability across the country and is currently being prioritized for healthcare workers, emergency medical service providers, police, and other essential workers, so please consult your doctor for availability in your local area So, in other words, they’re not testing practically anyone. Though, that’s not surprising. In Nevada, they’ve tested 6 tenths of one percent of the population. Across the US as a whole. The tests cover 1/315 of the population. So the numbers they’re reporting are vastly understated. Because they’re testing almost nobody. And to boot, the CDC website for COVID-19 https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html  , is dangerously incomplete, listing almost none of the symptoms. So many more carriers are out still walking around, spreading disease and destruction. Way to go Trump. He wants credit for everything, let it take him to Hell.

OfficeDepot is Evil

Well, another company caught with their pants down, how surprising. I order some office supplies, not paper towels or cleaning supplies. The first warning shot was that I couldn't choose pick up at store, the only option was delivery. I chose the supplies and checked out. They said one day delivery. Ok, not bad service so far. Come delivery day, I get an email saying that the ordered was delivered. This was 12:25 pm. I look around my property and no package. Check my security cameras and there was no activity on them. I wait until 4:00 pm to call customer service. I wait to speak to someone for about 55 minutes. The woman that answered the phone was unhelpful to rude. Said that the delivery service still had 10 minutes to deliver the package, and that I'd have to call back after the package was late. This was 10 minutes. Ten fucking minutes, when the web site said my package was delivered. The agent said that you can't trust the delivery service to truthfully state whether ...
