Do no evil revisited

Founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin announced that Google CEO Sundar Pichai will be replacing Page as the CEO of parent company Alphabet. In addition, Brin is stepping down from his role as Alphabet’s president.
Rather than framing this as a departure, the pair suggested that they’ve “never been ones to hold on to management roles when we think there’s a better way to run the company” and that they remain “deeply committed to Google and Alphabet for the long term, and will remain actively involved as Board members, shareholders and co-founders.”

And YouTube won’t police political speech. So Trumpsky, the Orange Nazi, can perpetuate the lies he tells by his adversaries, which is pretty much the entire planet except for Trumpsky sycophants.

Well, that’s the last step from Google’s former motto “Do no evil” to be a Facebook wannabe. Facebook is openly colluding with the far right to spread it’s disingenuous disformation throughout the Internet. All I’ve got to say is that “information” you get from either party ought to be given a jaundiced eye.

A good start to this revolt is to install ad blocker extensions in your web browser and dump Chrome.

CapitalOne provides misleading information on their website

 Well, this time, I have new info about dishonest corporations. I went on the CapitalOne website to make a payment on my credit card. As you can see, the date of the transaction is 11/8 and the webpage clearly states my payment is not due until tomorrow, 11/9 at 8 pm ET. Look further down the page and see that they’ve charged me a late fee. And in a really small typeface, they give the due date as 11/7. I called CapitalOne and they insisted that the due date was 11/7. They finally relented and credited me back the $27 late fee after a 17 minute phone call. And they refused to take responsibility for the bogus information on their website, that’s what got me pissed off. CapitalOne is like most large corporations, unethical.

Lies Will Always Be Lies

 According to the Wall Street Journal: Fox’s Dobbs, Bartiromo and Pirro Ask Court to Dismiss Defamation Suit Cable-news hosts say they were covering and commenting on newsworthy claims Why do fake journalists resort to lies and other "alternative facts" when they should provably know the false narrative is only their attempt to placate their radical audience? The only thing the far right wing media knows to do is to deflect blame. So much for personal responsibility that the far right espouses. The far right never accepts responsibility, it only demands others to follow the rules they set.

Officially Hot

 Well, it’s officially hot here in Las Vegas. I was sitting outside reading a geek book on my ipad and the ipad gave up the ghost. The screen showed some graphic and said the ipad had to cool down before it could be used more. The thermometer says its 112 at 2 pm. I guess its time to revert to physical books, at least they don’t overheat at temperatues seen here in Vegas.
