Well, according to the New York Times:
Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, said on Wednesday that he was starting to see “some glimmers of hope,” but epidemiologists warned that a return to pre-pandemic life won’t happen safely anytime soon.
i don’t know what data he sees, but I don’t see the same glimmer of hope that he sees. At least given the data available on https://covidtracking.com, the rate of increase in cases and deaths is still increasing in most states. It’s not exponential, like x squared, but like I saw in another article, a Seattle epidemiologist said that the rate at which those who have the coronavirus are passing it onto more than one person, the infection rate is is going to increase. The plateau is only going to come when that rate drops below one. And since certain locales still haven’t enacted social distancing edicts, stupid people are going to enable the virus to spread.
I mean, I’m more libertarian as libertarian as some people claim to be, but come on stupid people, you’re as self-centered as they come. No wonder most people conflate libertarianism with nutcases. “Liberty” isn’t “I live in a vacuum, only I matter.” I’m fine with people isolating from modern society, because it morally bankrupt. But isolate completely. And your “religious” beliefs are those of the Devil 👿. They have nothing to do with the Bible. |
